View Full Version : J20 rear D60 camber alignment off? or bent?

noticed that the passengers side of my rear D60 is getting irregular wear. It appears that the unit has a few degrees of positive camber (think it's positive, it wears the outside of the tire) Is there a way to adjust this or is something bent and in need of replacement?

Are you sure those spring perches are level?
That's about all I can tink of.

That's about all I can tink of.yea, it's definitely the axle. You can actually see that the drum doesn't sit level with the backing plate.

Hmm, well they have a process to straighten/realign axles, not sure what that entails or costs.

make sure the hub/wheelbearings are tight. other than that, check the housing with a large straight edgel. if its bent, youre prolly better off getting a new axle,or at least a new housing :( make sure you add a truss to the next one ;)

id be willing to bet, however, that when you jack it up you can wiggle the wheel/hub around, and youll find loose locknuts and/or bad wheel bearings. that should be a much easier fix. if the housing itself were bent, itwould have to be bent at the spindle,in order for there to be nticeable space between part of the drum abd backing plate, wich sounds like an unlikely situation. if the tube were bent inboard of the backing plate, the drum would still be flush all the way around.

I'll check the hub/wheelbearings. Thanks guys!
