I was at the local Harbor Freight store on Sunday, picking up a sandblasting cabinet and saw their $69 powdercoating gun. Has anyone used this and can give feedback on it? Thanks.

I'd spend an extra $30 and get the Eastwood Powdercoat gun. Getting a good Harbor Freight tool is hit or miss.

Agreed on the Harbor Freight quality.

I used to have the original Eastwood Hotcoat kit and it was OK. I coated a lot of parts with it, even a CJ-5 frame, but powder does build up on the tip diffuser and unless you keep an eye on it, it would "plop" off and cause globs in the coating when cured.

Still looking for more feedback.

What kind of oven did you use for the frame?

You can see the "oven" in the back ground of the attached pic ... works really well for large parts!

That is a great idea for an oven. A non contact laser thermometer would probably be handy when using that.
