View Full Version : Speaking of doors... 70s Wag

I was having trouble opening my driver's door from the inside, so I lifted up on the door pull and pushed with my massive shoulder (LOL) and broke off the stem that comes through the door panel that the door pull attaches to. Found one (AND a crank-style, rear window regulator) at a salvage yard. BUT, when I put it all back together, the INSIDE door pull/handle doesn't quite make the inside workings "strike" what disengages the door and allows it to open... I am missing the "window scraper" on that door, so I can see what the OUTSIDE door "button" pushes that allows the door to open... and the inside crank/pull falls short about 1/8 or 1/4 inch. So now I'm stuck opening the door by rolling down the window (hey, I'm in Texas and the Wag has NO A/C!) and opening the door from the outside. Any ideas on what's going on or what's missing? Danke, gracias, merci!
