Ok, trying to figure out if my J10 is stock hight or not. I measured the frame and its close to that of my lifted cherokees. But the frame on the J10 is different then the cherokees. I do know the J10 sits higher then the stock 74 wag that a guy at work has. The bottom of my headlights are even with the top of his. But I dont get to see many J10's. So any input would be good.

Here are some measurments I just took: Frame is 15.5" of the ground (ground isnt perfectly flat though, so not the best measurement) Wheel clearance with 31x10.50's is 6.5" rear (averaged left to right) and 6" front (averaged left to right)

And here is a pict:

EDIT: fixed typo, the ground is NOT perfectly flat smile.gif

Stuka,
The factory specs are 69-70" overall height and the step height is 21". An NT Chero is about 2.5" less overall height. That's with stock tires and new stock springs though.
Just from looking at the pic it looks stock to me. Nice truck BTW. I like white smile.gif

The very rear of the frame top, where the bumper is should be 16.78 off the floor. Thats to the top of the frame at the rear where the bumper would bolt on. This is from the factory spec manual for J-truck, both the 119 and 131 inch frames. The rearmost cab mount bracket should be 11.35 to the top of the bracket.

16.78 to the top of the frame? meaning the frame would be like 10" off the ground? That sounds kinda low...gona go grab my TSM, maybe it says.

I would say from the pic that is looks stock with good springs. My J-10 (http://www.geocities.com/cecil_odo) had 31s and no lift before we stripped it down and looked pretty much like yours only a bit saggier.

Ditto on the white. Not normally a big fan of white but with the wagon wheels it looks pretty darn good.

It looks stock to me. i have 33's on my stock 79 J10 and mines just alittle bigger from tire size. This is what mine looks like with what i think is stock springs. mine has a little sag in the front though.

ya the rear looks similar to yours. I do have major overloads in back, which will makeit about 2" higher just fromthe thinkness of the ALL's. What I am wonder is if I put 4" lift springs on my J10, would I actually gain any hieght. As right now it almost sits as high as my Cherokee, only off by maybe 1" or so. And it has 31x10.50's, with 4" lift springs in back, and a shackle flip/2" block in back.

One thing you can do is measure the length of the spring from eye to eye. The actual length of the spring, not just from bolt to bolt. Then get the measurement of the stock springs and compare. That will tell you if you have stock springs or not.
