We all love these beasts, but they are getting old and noisy and rough. What needs to be addressed to make a Waggy smooth at 80 mph? For reference, the tires are fine, the t-case is new, and the rear driveshaft has new u-joints. What else needs to be checked to ensure vibration free cruising? The engine seems to be perfectly smooth. Thanks!

mmmm... where to start?

Springs, shocks and body bushings for vibration.
Exhaust system, window wipes and weather stripping for noise.

My J10 rides great at 85mph. Make sure the tires are at the right pressure and well balanced, make sure your motor and tranny mounts are all good. Have good shocks. To get it smooth at higher speeds you need stiffer shocks, but will ride more firm at lower speeds. softer shocks are better for lower speeds, but will be boat like at upper speeds. Be sure all the body mounts are still good. Check the u-joints on the front driveshaft, as without locking hubs your front will always be turning as well.

Wheel bearings, pinion bearings in good shape. Make sure driveshafts are balanced (I had this done and it took a lot of vibes out) and "clocked" correctly when they're re-installed. I can also think of tie rod ends being tight and everything lubed. Steering stabilizer in good shape or one installed if not there.

Mine is already smooth at 80mph, you could buy mine, unfortunately I'm not selling it. :D
