78 to 65 swap??

The body styles seem to be the same!! I was wondering if the doors off of my 78 wag parts rig will fit on my 65 Wag?
The Tailgate fit on my 69!!

Yep, they will fit. Possibly have to swap the door strikers, not sure what years they changed.

I think the hardware changed in mid-79 so you should be good to go. Ya might consider new hinge pins and bushings while you're swapping doors. Any parts store will have them and they're pretty cheap.

Yes, the doors should be a direct swap with no mods necessary.
The tailgate deserves closer scrutiny. The latches and strikers should be the same thru mid 79 as others have noted but look carefully at the following items.
1. The alignment pins on the body and tailgate.
2. The bottom of the tailgate weather seal area.
They are not all the same, the alignment pins changed locations at some point and the bottom of the tailgate changed shape slightly. Also the tailgate weather seal is different between 69 and 78, which is why I am going back to a 68 tailgate for my 70.
PS. lots of PB Blaster on those bolts prior to trying to take them off, I broke 7 of 8 lower tailgate bolts last time.
