CV front shaft will solve the issue fo it. lowering the t-case without lower the engine would make the front output angle worse, because it would then point up.

could i take my driveshaft to get shortend and get them to add some high angle cvs or do i have to buy a whole new drive shaft because up here in canada thats going to cost 800 to 1000 dollars

front shaft will need to be longer. best route is a custom shaft with CV's on both ends. then you dont have to worry about any binding when flexing.
800-1000 USD or canuck?

DO NOT do CV's on both ends.... this makes your angle greater.... this dual CV application is primarilary used for LONG shafts... not short ones.... and its not necessary for the FSJ.
you only need a high angle CV at the T-case... around $275 from www.arizonadrivelines.com (http://www.arizonadrivelines.com) ... talk to Steve NOT Oscar
Do all SOA applications REQUIRE front driveline mods?
Or can you get away without it?

you may get away with IF the angle of the CV is within 16-22 degrees... any more and it will bind ,, then break... then take out your tranny when it flops around.... not good

yeah must be differnet with the QT cause my np208, all i had to do was lengthen the shaft. its been goign fine for awhile now. oh i also notched the crossmember for now.

Rob,
also... the NP208 sits further back than the QT and the drive shaft angle in less overall... helps you out that way...

I don't have enough money to play with you guys.

You can 'relieve' your OEM CV.... ;)
Its time consuming but can be done... I have... but I had help with an experienced friend on a computerized metal lathe....
The biggest relief that can be done is removing the dust cover from the ball and socket... you can gain about 3-5 degrees with the removal and slight grinding on the ball housing and H yoke....
want more?
take off the lip the dust cover snaps on (grinder with ease).... then start removing the inner material of the H yoke where the ujoints rotate.....
Trying to dig up the pics....
I remember seeing the pics of yours...so, that was all it took for you to be able to run it huh? I may be wrong, but I am thinking that I may not even run ito a problem...I have pretty saggy springs that will be used with the SOA and right now my 4" lift is causing me no probs at all...doesn't a SOA net 5-7"s? With the saggy spings I have, I imagine I'll be on the lower end of that scale....

well... I wouldn't say 'that's all'... 1 (we) spent about 80 hours total on mine... just because he is meticulous about his work.... you can see the relieved H yoke with the blue marking... the center of the H yokes is normally round and about 1/4" thicker over all.... we took out about 1/8" from everywhere inside to get more angle on the ball and socket and to allow the ujoints to have more clearance as well... I also put a spacer in the spring withing the ball and socket to allow constant pressure which it didnt have after the relief... CHECK THIS to make sure... its sloppy with no spring pressure....
you may ask yourself if this is strong.... I say yes... it has survived so far and made it thru Ouray... bent my axles and busted my T-case adapter.... and not one lick of trouble from this CV at all.. just required more grease due to not having the dust cap... gotta keep it clean too
found the pics...
