I'm going down tomorrow to get a '67 j-3000 long bed truck. It has a freshly rebuilt '66 corvette 327 (I looked up the casting #s and it actually is) with a th350. It also has a re-chromed rhino grill. It's all pulled apart but that just makes my job of making it look good much easier. And it has no rust  . Eventually the drive-train will go in favor of a 6.2, spicer 3053a, divorced np205, and dana 70's.

Here's some pictures to show how ugly and torn apart it is, and I'll get some more up as soon as it is home.

Looks good. It'll probably take a couple hours to dig it out of that garage!

Yeah, the guy has stuff packed around it, in it, on it, and a whole bunch of stuff under it. He has like 8 compressors laying around so I'm going to see if I can get him to throw one in with the truck ;) .

It took a total of four hours to get it out of the garage and loaded onto the trailer - even with having the AAA guy load it up in the driveway and drop it off on the trailer in the street (he wouldn't tow it to my house - non registered vehicle  ).

On a couple of the parts, the guy pulled a bait and switch (like the original corvette finned aluminum valve covers  ). It's not in as good of condition as I was told, but are they ever. I am happy about getting it, but I would be happier if he hadn't told me about those valve covers!

The rechromed grill was BS but it is in very good condition.

I'll get some pictures up as soon as my GF gets back with the camera.

Yeah, I got my moneys worth. Just those valve covers would have been nice. I can see why he kept them though, they sell for $300+! He could have at least told me that he was keeping them to sell separately or something, not some BS about his friends dead dad . My buddy going on about how much they are worth didn't help either. :grumble: (OK, I'm done ranting now... maybe)

I figure I'm going to setup the truck and run it for a while with the 'vette motor. That should be fun (definitely compared to a 6.2).
