I have another question for you guys. How does a person go about getting the heater core out of a 1971 J4000?

Straight from the TSM

Drain the engine cooling system

Disconnect the temp control cable at the heater

Disconnect the heater hose at the inlet and the outlet of heater

Disconnect the heater resistor wires at the plug type connector on the heater resistor

Remove the four nuts that secure the heater core and duct to the firewall

NOTE: Two of the nuts are on the inside of the vehicle just to the right of the transition duct

Remove the heater core and duct

Mark the duct halves to be sure they are assembled properly

Remove the screws that fasten the 2 halves of the duct together

Remove the four screws that secure the heater core to the duct

Remove the heater core.

Hope that helps smile.gif
