Just surfing for a picture.... On the someday list for the wagoneer is upgrading the axles. Not sure if I'll keep with the narrow track or widetrack with some trimming of the fenderwells.

Just curious if someone has some pics of a Wagoneer with 32" tires, widetrack axles, and about 4" of lift?

I know that's kind of specific, but there's a lot of people on here and almost every modification that you can think of someone has done, so maybe I'll get lucky?

Thanks,
Todd

Edit: Darnit, can't edit title.... Yes, I know it's not spelled Wagonner... Oh well.

I'm considering the same thing, only with just adding the flares and wide tires instead of the wide axles.

This is a picture from BJ's site. It is with aftermarket flares instead of stock. Not sure of the axles but it is the look I am going for.

That above GW has widetrack 3/4 ton axles, i am not sure if they are J-20 or GM or what...

Here is a better pic of about what you are looking to do and looks to be very well done:

dr. teeth, I had a 70 wag. 4''lift and 34.9.5's. I extended the rear wheel openings two inches to the rear. if you didn't have a tape measure you wouldn't notice. id post the pics but fsjworld.com doesn't work anymore. maybe someone has pics of my old wag.

This is Shimnioks 86 GW set up close to what you are looking for. It has WT Cherokee axles and 33s.

That last one is getting close. I didn't have any plans to add flares (I think both examples above are nice, just different than what I had in mind). I was hoping to get away with just opening up the wheel openings an inch or so. I'd like to keep a fairly stock look, hence the search for pictures. If I had to cut too much fender away to keep things from rubbing, I'd just look at upgrading axles, but keeping the NT width.

Maybe I'll PM Shimniok and see if he has some closeups of the wheelwells and the specific details on lift/axle/tire combo.

Thanks, as always the group of subscribers on this site exceed expectations!

Changing the rear wheel well to accommodate the flares, more dirt accumulate at the edge of the door? In other words rear passengers dragging dirt into vehicle and getting seat of pants dirty?

Ummmm... What?

Already figured it out, yep dirt and mud would accumulate at rear of door because flare was mounted on door (Wagoneer posted). Ideally flares would be mounted like this

keeping mud away from rear door.

Do a search for "Riverbeast wide track conversion". You'll find out every thing you need to know.

I have everything lined up to do this on my Wagoneer. If only I could find the time. I amy have to break down and pay a bodyshop to do it for me.

Does anyone in the aftermarket make the stock looking flares?

The pic in my signature is of our 1976 Wagoneer, with both axles and front clip from a 1977 Widetrack Cherokee.
I also had a pair of J-truck fender flares that I was going to put on the rears, but we just never got around to it, and sold the flares.
It has a 4" lift and 33x12.50-15 tires. Trimmed about 2 inches in the rear.

Just to clarify... I don't want to put flares on it. I've done alot of research on what that takes (even met a guy here in town with a real nice example). I want to swap to WT with only trimming the fenders I have.

In other words rear passengers dragging dirt into vehicle and getting seat of pants dirty?Maybe. ;) I don't have that problem since the back seat spends most it's time NOT in the back of the Jeep. Besides, when they get in and avoid the hot exhaust pipe tips, they will probably avoid most the dirt too. :p

Doesn't Dome (Adam) also have WT axles on his 4 door?
