Carpet+Water=RUST! AAAAHHHHHH!!!!

I pulled up the rubber flooring/backing on my J Truck only to find the dreaded cancer!!! Passenger side is just surface, but the drivers side, under the gas pedal is through and through...Flintstone style! Not enough to put your foot through, but bad enough to not want to put my full weight on.
HELP!!!!! How hard is it to replace the floors on this cab?
Ideas, hints, comments??????

I have refloored a 74 wag I used to have using alum. diamond plate. Used 1 piece per foot well.

That is the cheap way. I glassed boats for Buddy Davis yachts for a couple summers, and used marine grade materials. Just remember to cut out all cancerous rust! You may need to use a support structure of duck tape to keep fiberglass in place over larger areas.

i had the exact same problem. My hole was on the passenger side though. What I ended up doing was removing the really shot metal, then puting a coat of rust killer down. Now with an even bigger hole in the floor, I covered it with some 20 gauge steel. It's thick enough that it doesn't flex when you step on it, but soft enough to bend to fit with your hand (mine was rusty up to the trans hump, so I had to bend it up a little on the hump side. After that I just welded it place and put a little seam sealer around the edges. A little more paint and you're done. The metal cost me $6, the seam sealer was like $3 and a rattle can of primer was $2. Pretty cheap fix and if you're putting your carpet back down you'll never even notice it. I'll take a pic for you tomorrow if I can.

I believe GEMOBX sells repair panels for the floor boards.
Luckily I caught mine before it rusted all the way thru. I just cleaned it and slapped some herculiner on it.
