Do you really need a new install kit if all you're going to do is swap a limited slip for a spool? Or since you're not swapping the pinion gear could you get away with doing it yourself?

You do not need the install kit. Unless you find issues with bearings or find you need shims. AMC 20 or D44?

D44 out of an 88. So it should be pretty straight up then? Cool. Thanks Pete.

I assume you are not changing the ratio so I would leave the pinion in place. I use marking compound to mark how the gears are set up prior to removing, then when you install the Spool shim it to match where the R&P ran before. Good Luck

put themin using the shims on it, and see if the patern is ok. If not you will need too re-shim, as every housing is slightly different.

Are you talking a full spool or a mini spool, that just replaces the spider gears??? If it's a mini you should just put everything back like it came out, if the bearings and everything looks okay.
Never mind, I see it was a LS, so it's not going to be a mini. PP
