has any one done a soa with the stock dana 27 on a 1970 or simaler fsj? I want bigger axels but am to poor to get them now,so I would like to try lifting it with the stock axel. I would like to know about any steering conflicts, spring perch placement probs. or any other isues you might think of.

Welcome. Yes I had one on my ,67 before I switch the axles out. The draglink hits the left spring at almost all times. And you wil need a two inch block for the rear. But with the draglink hitting the leaf spring it is not a very good axle for this lift. I just switch out axles to solve the problem. Someone else might have done it. JeepBob is one the comes to mind.

Couldn't get to the picture it said it is a restricted area. The draglink is the one that goes from the pitman arm on the steering box down to the passenger side knuckle. The tierod is the one that goes from knuckle to knuckle. They may a way around it put I never bothered. You should email JeepBob and see how he did it.

Jeepbob used a SOA w/t D44 from a J truck. Geez now I am refering to myself in the 3rd person, I must really be sick :D :D :D I would wait until you get heavier axles as D27's have a tendency to gernade. I have several sets of toothless D27 spider gears and splineless drive flanges I will sell very cheap.
