I'm not sure about a gravity gun but I use a constant flow HVLP gun at work from spraying polysilicon boxes (crucibles). Its real easy to adjust and fine tune, just make sure that you do light coats. I have heard that gravity fed gun can clog up but have never had that happen to me. I think it has to do with how the mixture is.
You'll be surprised how well you can have a basic paint job can come out if you just take a little extra time with it.

I've actually heard good things about the hvlp guns from Harbor Freight. HVLP's are going to waste a lot less paint than the standard guns. Just spray a test piece of cardboard and tune the gun and you should have no problems.

That would make a good primer gun but I wouldn't use it to paint.
But I'm guessing you're not going to be painting tons of cars and you just want to make your Jeep look nicer, so in that case go for it.

I spray intruments for a living and we use the Central Neumatic HVLP's from Harbor Freight for some of the satin paints (they're cheap and work good for what we do) we use and have had good results but it takes a lot of fine tuning to get them to spray gloss well. I have been buying and using Husky tools a lot more lately and have not been disapointed yet. I would guess that it would work good for you and really would like to know how it works if you do try it. How much do they want for it?

This was done with a Harbor Freight 19.95 HVLP spray gun - as good a gun as I've used, and I started 35 years ago with a Binks #7. It might not hold up for everyday professional use, but it was more than acceptable for this job.
