You can get some more practice with floorboards when I get there. Of course, finding good metal to weld to might be an issue...

Didnt get a whole lot done this weekend as it was raining almost constantly. Got the drivers side finished up. Just got to patch up the passenger side, rust convert everything, prime, then seal it all up. The Wookie ended up ditching me so my buddy Mike and I finnished up the welding...and like I said, my welds aint too pretty :o

Any vehicle will rust, looks like it had a cowl or windshield leak.
Once that carpet sound deadening crap gets wet, it's rust central.

You should weld the patch panels to the floor supports.
Notice on the pieces you removed that they were spot welded to the supports.

Mine did, stoopid leaves and pine needles in the cowl let water flow in through the vents on the kick panels. Not as bad as yours though. Nice work fixing it though:thumbsup:

My J-10 was left in a POs back yard with the windows down for a couple of years, so when I ripped the carpet and pad out, it was rusted alot like yours. I opted for Garys pans and will weld them in when its not the DD anymore.

Thanks :) I think I could have done a better job but its my first time doing floors so I dont think its too bad.

After cutting out and welding in all those patches I really wish I would have gotten the Gary pans like I did on my Wagoneer (even though I never installed those) It would have made life a lot easier.

Yep, the windshield leaks like a seive. Gonna seal it but if that doesnt work Ill replace it, its got some chips in it anyway. And yea I spot welded the panels to the channels, just didnt get any pics.
