I thought it might be a good idea to discuss your ideas and methods on shipping larger FSJ parts. There might be a few people afraid to ship larger items. This thread might encourage other to sell and ship those larger items such as engines etc. I'll start by sharing my experiences.

No 1. Get a Fedex account. It's free, bills to your CC, and you get a discount.

Transfer cases. I've shipped 2 for 50.88 each. Get a box, line it with styrfoam sheeting from Home Depot ($10.99). After lining with two or three layers, put the tcase in a garbage bag and place in box. Use two cans of triple expanding foam and fill the voids with foam and styrfoam chunks. Make sure you label the box Heavy 80lbs+.

Engines. Make a riser on the front of a pallett for the front of the oil pan. Cut some 2x4's at a 45 degree angle and drill holes in the end to fit the studs on the engine mounts. Set engine on pallett and slide angled 2x4's in place and screw other end to pallett. Use two rachet straps to secure. Old tires work well.

Transmissions. I have a crate that works well, just include a return tag so you get it back. About $75 to ship Fedex.

Your ideas?
