Popping from the Exhaust

All righty then... Say I drive 50 mph. When I let off the gas a sound come from the exhaust, sounds like mild popping... Timing? If so which way should I turn the dizzy, clockwise/counter?

Or: I have a small oil leak, could it be the oil dropping on the exhaust?

It can be from timing, but most the time it isnt. Its excesss fuel that is being burnt in the exhuast when under compression slow down. My jeep only does a pop when in 3rd gear going down a steep hill (15% +) other wise its just a nice rumble.

Valve lash can cause it some of the times, you can alsoo try leaning out the idle mixture to try and get rid of some of the excess fuel that is in the exhuast system. Otherwise I wouldent worry about it to much.
