Alright here is my problem guys. I have a 57 Willys Wagon. It currently has a 351w with the t-90 and d-18 set up and dana 27 & 44 original axles.

I bought a 85 Wagoneer to use as the donor vehicle. I realized over the weekend when I put the body of the Willys on the frame of the wagoneer that I have a major problem.
Yes, I know the frames are different sizes that was no problem my first plan was to try and adapt the frame to the willys. It's going to be harder than I thought. I also realized that the AMC 360, TF 727 and 229 set up is going to be just to long. Mainly, the 360. It is a long block and the 351 is a short block. I need a short block to put in that tight space. Duh should have seen that from the start..

So this is where I'm at now.. I'm still going to use the axles from the wagoneer (disc brakes), the power booster and a few other parts but now what do I do with the T-90 and D-18 is pass setup and the axles of the wagoneer are drivers side drops..

So should I get a ford tranny and t case? Which one would give me a drivers side drop? Is there any t case that will bolt to the T-90 that will give me the drivers side drop?

Yes, I know I'm being a pain here but I need some help from the experts... Thanks Pete

Just ahead of the front hangers of the rear springs is the good spot to shorten the Wagoneer frame. It will telescope back together ready for welding about ? 7 inches shorter. My friend in Bono Tx did it and put a CJ-7 body on it. Worked like a charm and he stuck in a 401 & Qt so it was like an HD version of the 1976 CJ-7 with the 401 & QT.
Good Luck ;) and CUL… ds..

A t-18 with a Ford 208 would give you a pretty short set up with a drivers side drop.

loose the t-90, it is a fine trans for a 134 cid fhead but is not up to
any abuse with a V8, Personally I would drop the 360-727-229 in to
the willys frame with and use the 44's from the wag. The 360 should
fit the engine bay of the willy's the floor pan most likely will need some
surgery fit the 727-229 under the floor boards.

This should make for a much nicer ride than anything that Willy's produced.
