I'm gonna be swapping out the 229 in my '90 for a 208 and was thinking it may be a good idea to go back with u bolts instead of straps. How does one convert from straps to u bolts?
TIA:drivin:

Get the right yoke. If I remember looking at the differences between mine...I don't think I would trust a strap yoke drilled enough to fit a u-bolt.

is this the kit that I would need for both front and rear 44s in my '90?

I'm not sure if those are the right ones or not. I would guess that they will probably fit as they list for older CJs too. I would ask for a spline count on those ebay yokes before I bought them. I don't remember what our D44 spline count is off the top of my head.

Yep, 26 spline fits many Dana axles and xfer cases.
My money is on them being out back on an axle in my pile.
The ones on the 'Valdez' we're drilled out. ;)
