After a long ordeal with a tranny shop the owner ended up buying my '77 J10 from me and left me 401less.
Anyways, been oogling this blue Wagoneer at a car lot for the past few weeks so I stopped to take a look. Turned out to be a '76 Wagoneer with a 401 TH400 and QT(just when I thought I was done with QT's:rolleyes: ) freshly painted, too. Also turns out the Waggy has only had one owner, only ever lived in one town at one address it's whole life and when the original owner bought it brand new they traded in their '73 Wagoneer and paid the difference in cash. Coolest part is that ALL the paperwork is there including the sales reciept as well as the warranty wallet card. Never seen one as documented before, ever.
Turns out the Waggy had been at the lot for well over a year so I got it for a song and a dance.

After a bath and a little bit of turtle wax the new paint job shined up just fine.
Maybe you should try your luck on American Idol. Appearantly you can sing and dance fairly well..

The elevation in CO is gonna drop one day due to the excess weight of all the 401's;)

You dropped a hint about some trouble with the Honcho. You gotta tell the story now. ;)

Congrats! I'm smelling 6" springs and 33's all the way from Jersey. Must be nice to find them in that nice of condition. I'm sure the rotten fuel mileage helped you at the bargaining table.

Nice! I look forward to seeing it in person in July. You ARE bringing it to Ouray, right?
You want me to bring some wood-grain vinyl along to freshen it up while we're there?

It was in the wayyy back of the lot, didn't see it until I drove down the side street. It was on North Ave across the street from the Mesa County Community Services Building. They also have a beat-up 80ish Wagoneer Boughram(SP?) for $600 w/o a title. Would be good for parts.
Flint-It's a long story, tell ya in July.
Tonka J200-I'll be bringing it but I think I like the black stripe better than the Vinyl. I've got a few hundred feet of real wood grain in the closet if I ever go that route...Don't tell my girlfriend:hide:
As for the plans for this one, BIG bear thumper up front I bought last year for the '79 from Pete, 4" lift and 32's. Build some sort of console fore the radio, the dash looks too sweet with the original AM mono speaker radio to cut it up.

Took this yesterday, the writing on the spoiler was the GF's idea since the last 2 Wagons saw more time on the side of the road then on it.

I like that last pic too. It sure looks like a keeper Sean. You may have just found your "the one". :fsj: A 4" lift and 32s would fit it out very nice. Well, maybe along with 1" AAL on the front to hold that bumper up. ;)
