Last night at 5:00PM, while waiting for my family for dinner at Fazolis (Tuesday is Kids night), I spotted late 70s Jeep W/T Cherokee near the strip mall known as Times Corners.
It came down Covington Road, stopped at the light at Jefferson Blvd/US24 and then proceeded West on Covington into the Aboite area.
It may have turned North on Getz toward Meijer’s, but I could not tell.
It was charcoal gray in color with a white Wagoneer tailgate.
It had a “Razor” grill, so it was no later than a ’78 model.
I am guessing maybe a 1977 or 1978 model.
It was missing any Cheif decals.
It appeared to have a lift lit installed, but rolling on smallish tires, maybe 31” in size.
With the lift, it could fit 35’s easy.
The front wheels were the uncommon Jeep alloy “Silver Dollar” rims while the back wheels were white paint steel wagon spoke rims.
Its AMC 360 sounded healthy as it pulled away from the light.
The body was very straight, clean and from the distance I was drooling from, it appeared to have little or no rust.
In the 8 or so years that I have been into Full Sized Jeeps, this is the first W/T Cherokee I seen in Fort Wayne.

Was this anyone from here?

No, I did no have a camera. :(
