Hi! I've been off the board for a while, but have to get you guys to help me decide what to do., it has come to the point that I need to sell one of my Jeeps. I just can't decide which to sell. There are a lot of variables, but
here are some basics:
1980 Cherokee W/T, 360, 205, 32" new tires. It has about 90K miles,
is basically stock and a survivor. Runs better than any FSJ I've
owned. Issues: needs interior (headliner, seat covers, new carpet),
would benefit from new paint (not fully dead, but worn pretty thin).
Small oil leak a rear of rt. size valve cover, possible burned exhaust
valve on #8. A/C stuff there but a leak somewhere. VERY little rust (bottom of rear flares, small bubbles),
new shocks, Hella 6 1/2" fogs. I have $5,700 in it and would sell for
$4,500; a price I refused about a year ago. My plan was a restoration
like I did on my J10 sportside.
Lots of extras not installed: MSD billet dist., custom MSD wires, Dash clock, Sony Explode head unit, great emblems, more. Would sell w/Cherokee reasonably.
1996 Cherokee XJ, 4.0; lifted with all spring Rubicon express all
spring lift. Tom Woods custom driveshaft w/ Advance Adapters slip yoke
removal kit. Dropped T/C. Done right, and runs smoothly. 31" Dick
Cepek Mud Country's, K&N cold air intake. 2 1/2" ehaust w/high flow
cat. Original engine and transmission, does not burn oil; but small
weep at main seals (less than a pint per 4,500 miles). New radiadtor,
starter, Recent PS pump. Rigorous preventive maintence. A/C works well, Good paint (original), no rust. Wrangler 5 spoke 15" wheels, Hella 6 1/2"
Driving lamps.
Issues: Interior is OK, seats stained (small holes,2, on drivers seat.
Carpet needs good cleaning. 247K miles, all mine since new. I would
like to get $4,500 for this one as well.
So, which one should I sell? I see each would need about $4-5K to
make near perfect; but I can't do both. Your advice, or an offer would
be appreciated.
