View Full Version : Lift kit for Ford F-150 on a G-WAG?

Someone was telling me that the lift kit for a 86 Ford F-150 will work on my G-WAG.Can anyone tell me if the guy was smokin somethin or if he was right? I would really like to know. ;)

I'd like to see how they'd fit a lift for a coil-spring IFS truck onto a solid-axle leaf-spring truck like yours. Maybe the rear lift blocks would work.

Maybe they meant the body-lift? That might mostly interchange.

Bob's right, 150s had coils up front. 250s have leafs, but i'm not the one to answer lengths or fit or anything.

A lot of people think that because AMC used Ford distributors that they were really Fords. There is no way the kit would work so he must be smoking something or have some other really good drugs :D :D :D

Okay I was just wanting to know if that was true or false.Does the Grand Wagoneers have only distributors made by Ford? Are there any other ford parts I should know about :rolleyes: ?I DONT like Fords!! I like any American-Made car(/Truck/Suv) but Fords!

They used a ford style starting system and some of the early to mid 70's used a Ford alt. Don't forget that the ign boxes and carbs are also ford products. Jeep used parts from all of the big 3 as well as many other vendors as they did not have the money to redesign the wheel. On Jeeps it is best if you just think of them using the best parts from the other companies as Jeeps are like Internationals they are not assembled as much as they are accumulated.
BTW, I was never a Ford man until I got my 88 F150. It is better than any GM or Chryco truck I have ever owned.

I like Fords their tough and last a long time. Only thing I've hated about them is that worthless excuse of an engine the 351M modified :mad: Don't know what they were smokin when they made that thing.
