Hey there, it's been a while. Those of you that are in the military or know of it know that you can go with little notice!
Well, I've got the 14 bolt under the rear and the 3/4 ton D44 up front now. I put 35x15x16.5 TSL's on. I ended up with about 5 1/2 or 6" of tire sticking out of the fender. Time to get some flares! The guy I sold all my jeep stuff to owns an auto body shop and had a set of Wrangler YJ 6" Xenon flares lying around and said he would throw them in if I could use them. Well after a LONG time of holding them up and looking, I went ahead and took them and started cutting on sheet metal. I've got the front flares on and they look good!
For the motor, I used the jeep motor mount pads and modified them to fit GM motor mounts. I also used the jeep tranny cross member. The whole set up fit up in the frame nice. I went back to look at the drive line angles, BAD BAD BAD! Back to the drawing board. I got a set of 2wd GM m/m pads, welded gussets and extended them to fit the wider jeep frame. I got them all welded on, the GM th350 cross member in (slightly modified), finished it all up this morning. Looks good! I've got drive line angles of about 3 degree's; Perfect. By using all GM mounts, it dropped everything down about 4" in the frame.
I'm taking pictures step by step and will be posting what I have soon.
