here's somthing i found to work real good and take the guess work out of locating them holes in new wagon wheels to mount the stock center caps back on. Just a heads up to make it easy. I took a old rusty stock rim that had the holes for the center cap and cut the center out. Then welded studs in that fit tight in the holes in the rim. Then tap it on the new rim and you now have a guide for the new holes. thought i would share a little tid-bit of info. It worked out great.

Those chrome wheels look pretty close to the origional Chesley Hayes (SP?) factory chrome wheels.
Are the triangles indented like the origionals?
Man I've been searching the country for a set of 5 on 5 1/2 CJ wheels that are 8" wide.
Great idea drilling the holes for factory center caps.:dancingbanana:

That's really cool, you could do that with aftermarket wagon wheels too (got 3 sets here).

I could use it...
So what would be the deal, just a borrowing thing, pay for shipping...pass it on to the next guy etc???

I found a set years ago on an early 80s CJ Laredo in a junkyard. I sold them a few months back to a member in Iowa. Where were you then?

I've never seen a set of aftermarket wagon wheels that the triangles were indented or rolled, flared back like origionals.
I've tried to rechrome wheels but chrome wouldn't get down into cracks where wheel center is pressed and welded to rim.
I just traded a AM/FM Jeep CJ radio and NOS Black leather YJ offset steering wheel for 4 perfect & rust free 8" wheels.
Then found a NOS CJ 8" chrome wheel.
Man the CJ stuff is 4 or 5 times the price of FSJ.

no problem. just pay for the ride and then the next guy that needs it will pay you for for the ride and so on. we can keep it on here so every body knows where it is and who's up next to get it. hows that sound?
