fuel sending unit upgrade

i think i remember hearing someone talk about an upgraded fuel sending unit for late model wags. does anyone know anything about it?

I just tonight found a TSB on that on the NHTSB web site it gave a part number of 53006586. Suposedly it is a dampened unit to help with the wild swings of the gauge when less than half tank. Hope this helps.
