I just bought a 1968 Gladiator with a AMC 327 in it. The engine needs to be rebuilt, but from
what I have been seeing it is going to be expensive. Does anyone know if I can swap it out with
another engine, possible a 360? How many modifications will I have to make?

I have done this very thing. Change out the eng. mount towers and the mounts themself and you are in there. Wiring is not to hard to figure out. What tranny are you running? If you can, get the whole eng/tranny/t-case setup. It will go alot smoother.

Thanks for the inf.. I have a GM-TM400 3 spd auto in it. But I think I will have to pull that as
well because of the different type case on the tranny. What did you end up putting in? I am
thinking about a 360 maybe upgrading to a 4 spd auto. I would like to keep the D-20 T-case
though. I like it better than my quadratrac that I have in my Cherokee.

Chevy will not bolt up to the trany he has in there. You could get the Adapter and Frame towers for the 350 Dauntless (Buick 350) and drop that in there with minimal mods. Or use the BOP adapter to your trans and drop in any Buick, Olds, Pontiac, Cadillac engine in. I have the adapter, BOP to your nailhead trany. I have the frame towers for the 350 as well.
