Well, the PO broke the mounting points off my D-20 tcase and so I am in search of a replacement D-20.
What vehicles and years should I be looking for that will have the D-20 in them?
Will all D-20's bolt up to my TH400 or do I need to look for a D-20 out of an old jeep?
Whats the going rate for a used D-20 tcase?
Thanks for the help

Which mounting points broke? The ears on the adapter to the X member or the actual case itself which is hard to believe...

Then all you need is the adapter plate...
www.novak-adapt.com (http://www.novak-adapt.com) sells a beefy one for around $200
You need to call them and tell them you just need the replacement adapter and not the kit they sell for $500.... thats for a conversion.

Or, for $150.00 , Riverbeast will come up to Alaska and show you how to use a ratchet strap to hold it in place (and play a tune!).

Are CJ Dana 20's the same as FSJ 20's?

only if they were bolted to a TH400 they will be a direct bolt in... otherwise you must change the input gear for around $85.

according to novak, there were 2 different pitch used on the gears in the model 20 behind a th400. when shopping for a repalcement xfer case,it does not have to come from behind a th400,but you must use the matching input gear with the correct pitch on the cut of the teeth.
any th400 input gear will have 15 internal splines, and 26 teeth. the rest of the tooth counts are identicle as well for different years and models, only difference is the pitch on the gears teeth.
if your input gear is an 18 8 40 you have a 20* cut
if your input gear is an 18 8 43,you have the 17.5* cut
any d20 will work as long as it matches the pitch of the input gear you use.
here novaks input gear info page:
