New to the forum and wanted to say hello to everyone. Not new to jeeps though, I've had CJ's and 2 FSJ's over the years 1977 Cherokee S and have a 1978 Cherokee Chief my mom bought new. Look forward to seeing eveyones rides. Had this one sitting at my friends place and the last storm we had blew the roof off his barn and it landed on the jeep. So, it's about to be disassembled and redone from the frame up, been sitting up for the last 8 years but still runs. Has 401 4bbl, 400 trans with BW-TC, 4" lift, 35 x 12.5's. She looks a little rough right now but it's all there.:)

I appreciate the nice comments, it's always been my favorite 4x4. (Right now theres a snake hiding under the hood somewhere).
Hopefully it will turn out real nice when finished. LOL!!!
Yea I get a llot of guys wanting that motor. I also see it called everything from 400 to 410 even saw one guy post his as 7.5 litre. Couldn't believe that one!

Welcome to the Madness!
401s are over rated. We have 5 that run and judging from the fuel consumption, they are a hazard to the check book too. ;)

Been there and done that. Those dad burned snakes have a way of coiling up on top of the air breather and scarin the pi$$ out of ya.
Welcome aboard from another Texan. Super nice Chief.

Well the snake is gonna die if I can catch it!! So it won't fair so well, saw him on Sun.,found it's skin yesterday around the hood latch, think it's a Copperhead!!!!
Really all I need to do to get back on the road is a fuel tank and engine overhaul. All the rest works fine, but I want to redo it from the frame up. Going to have frame stripped & powder coated. Thought about putting a Duramax / Allison combo in it. That would be nice.
