Well I figured since I have posted a couple threads that should introduce myself.

I had been looking for a FSJ that wasn't rotten for a while. I have a XJ and it's just too cramped for a 6'2" 300 pounder.

I took one of our dumptrucks to the tire shop to get a tire. DUH

Parked on the street was a 88 GW. In the window it said "parts only $400.00"

I ask inside whats up with the Waggy. I figured for $400.00 I could scrap it for more than that. Not that I would but I could.

The guy inside says that they have been servicing said Waggy for years. That it has a Jasper rebuild in it, a new t-case and a somewhat fresh tranny. Only problem is the rear end is out and it won't move. D shaft spins but waggy no go.

He gives me the keys and I go investigating. Interior is rough. Needs carpet and seats recovered. Has a relatively new Alpine CD player WITH Sirius tuner!!! A receipt from Jasper for a rebuild 360 about 50,000 miles ago, a receipt for a t-case and a receipt for... you guessed it a trans.

It starts right up, no smoke.

I call the number and buy it for $200.

Roll back it to the shop. Replace a bearing and oil seal. Clean up the brakes and drive it around.

What it needed desperately:

Smog stuff was shot. I removed it all. Just bought a HEI for it and was given an Edlebrock 600 Carb. So rather than bypassing a bunch of stuff and plugging holes Ill just replace the top end.

The seats are shot! SO is the carpet and the headliner isnt far behind.

both front fenders are bent up. Ons is repairable one is not. Local body shop we deal with can get me fenders for 49$ a piece.

Plans for the future...

BJ's 4" lift and 32x11.50's (if they will fit.)
Remove wood and paint solid blue.
Renew interior.
Sell XJ and take that money to finsh the rebuild I've been doing for 3 years on a 73 CJ-5.

That's my story in a nut shell.

Glad to be here folks.

BIGGUN I assure you that you are NOT the first person to tell me I suck. LOL

If I ever get around a digital camera Ill get some pics up. For now just imagine a faded blue waggy with good wood and a dented front fender. lol

Chrome-A-Nator- As a former over the road owner operator I can relate to the chrome addiction. Ive sepnt many a day and night covered in Zephyr 40 trying to get that last smudge out.
BTW after looking at your cardomain account and the build on your waggy I do belive you are my hero! That's a sweet ride ya got there bossman.

LOL I need a daily driver that I fit into. I actually have more leg room in the CJ than I do the XJ.

Some how I became inundated with Jeeps. A Waggy, an XJ, a CJ and my Harley is painted Jeep Wrangler Green. (That was not intentional)

I need a new hobby or a girlfriend bad!

So might as well stick with what you know. Some of us have seen several women come and go, but still have the same Jeeps.

Yes, but, no matter what hobby you might pick, the headaches won't be as severe, or last as long...

Welcome and good score!
