Lifted my 84 Wagon and i have fully extended the factory shocks smile.gif So my Jeep is parked waiting on more parts............AGAIN.
What do you guys reccomend, or is there anything special I should know before I stop by my local parts place?
Was looking at those Rancho RS5000s, but a friend told me not to waste my money as I have quite a few extra leafs under my Wag
Thanks in advance for the advise
by the way I have approx 4" front and back on the lift - what length do i need?

I saw someone who was running Monroe Sensa-Trac coil over shocks. He had 3" lift w/ 3" body lift.

the RS5000 are good shocks but stiff!..I run the adjustible 9000's and love them!!...the Edelbrock IAS has had rave reviews also.....depends on how you use the vehicle....I do street driving, towing, and some desert playing...so I enjoy the adjustability of the 9000's

Dutch and I both have stock-height Grand Wags: he has Rancho 5000 shocks and I have Edelbrock IAS. So we took turns test-driving each other's vehicles through an "urban assault" route around his neighborhood. I think we both agreed that the Edelbrock shocks imparted a better feel of control over the vehicle when braking and turning -- basically less mushy than the Ranchos. However, in terms of actual shock absorption the two were pretty similar. (I hope Dutch will weigh in on this thread so I'm not too presumptive in speaking for him.)
I think you really do get what you pay for in this regard. The Ranchos and other aftermarket shocks are clearly superior to stock or replacement shocks. But the Edelbrocks are $70 a pop and dang well better be worth it!
By the way, Veepster, I got my $27 rebate check today from Edelbrock. Party time! First I'll fill up the Jeep with gas and then...
Hmm, looks like I'll just be filling the Jeep up with gas.
