Parts - Dealer vs McParts

Just bought a 85 Grand Wagonner last week. Got it from an estate where is had been sitting a while but no rust. Put on new tires and it runs great. Want to do an oil and transmission fluid/filter change along with the air filter. Are Jeep OEM filters best or just go with a Fram at the local McParts.

Go with a NAPA gold, WIX or one of the better brands of filters. ANYTHING but a fram filter. They can come apart and fill your motor with the paper element. Hopefully someone esle will post up with the link to the oil filter page.

Gwamp is right on target regarding the NAPA(wix) filter...Fram is like toilet paper...I would also add the Lucas oil and tranny treatment while you're @ it...an ounce of prevention yada yada yada

Carquest blue filters are also Wix.

I beleive that AC/delco are made by Wix too.

I know ac/delco are good filters, but be careful, made by wix doesn't necesarily mean it is a wix. Carquest red filters are made by wix, but are not a real wix wix, they are Purolaters. I do know for sure that Carquest blue and NAPA Gold are 100% wix, not just made by wix.
