I've narrowed down the colors that I will be using on the Cherokee now I just need some ideas on the layout. Here are the color choices I've come up with:
What I have in mind is the lower area below the mirrors will be in one of the 2 colors of blue, either Cadillac Blue or Toyota Blue and the upper area above the mirrors done in black. I'm stuck on where to break the colors. Here are some of the choices we've come up with. The body line that turns up at the front fender, the one that ends at the hood opening seam, or the one that runs the length of the side of the hood just above the fender. Thoughts appreciated!!

I've been kicking around the two tone idea, black over copper and using a factory style stripe to separate the colors... but it's hard to beat the factory two tone in my opinion.

I think that caddy blue over a a caddy white would look sharp.:D

Mine is Ford Bahama Blue on the bottom and black on top.

Here are some pics.

P.S. how do I get the second one to come up as a thumbnail? I had already attached it in another thread.

that toyota blue looks wimpy IMO.

the caddy blue looks great but its so dark i would make sure you pick a heavy body line to seperate it from the black or it will seem to blend.

i'm biased, but i'd do the flares and the window area black...

cadillac blue and black. have the black stop at the hood seam. you could even add a small pinstrip of another color like grey or silver to seperate the 2

Don't get me wrong I like that color scheme but it's a factory style that is done on many Jeeps here. I want something totally different. I want the Jeep to have a unique look about it that stands apart.

How would you do the pin stripe if you break it on the seam? I like the silver stripe idea but don't cha think it needs to be below or above the hood/fender seam? Another idea that popped in my head is going with the body line that turns up on the front fender then installing the chrome trim that is seen on many of the J10/J20 bodies.

ive seen them put the stripe on the bottom edge of the hood. so when you lift the hood the stripe goes with it. it looks good like that, but you can use the stripe idea on the other body line. just throwing some ideas out.

I like that a LOT.

Unique yet subtle and definitely Jeep.

i like the 3rd one the best. in the 4th get rid of the black fenders, its too much black. you could put a smaller silver stripe on the 1st one too.

caddy blue all over with a grey/silver stripe down the side where the body lines are (indent below the hoodline) and also the raised part of the hood.

bev's rig has the right color idea in the side stripe and hood....

of the two blues you showed, I much prefer the caddy blue to the toy blue.

BUT it is way too close to black to make a good color pairing, JMHO. I think the stripe like Bev's is the right way to go. it fits the lines and panels best.

Might get someone to photochop a pic using the Toy blue overall with black around the back glass and a black stripe--where Bev's is silver and than black on the flairs (maybe the rockers but below the doors, not a broad band) and see how that looks. the black could be done with bedliner material.

I agree... That Caddy blue it too dark to mix with black... But the Toy blue is too soft (yeah, yeah, I know what color my Chief is)...

I say forget the black and go with the Caddy blue and Caddy white diamond..

Blue on bottom, white diamond above it, then maybe back to blue around the windows... Or something like that.. I try to play with it in MS paint when I get home tonight to show you what I mean...

X2!! - That is 1 sweet ride, the silver/grey helps the blue stand out from the black, and just enough chome to pull it all together.

My glad has that toyo blue (or so the PO told me) and I think it's OK with the lighter offset - silver in my case - dunno how it would look with a solid black as the alternating color tho...

I was surprised to see my Jeep in this thread! HA!!
FYI: My blue is the color from an 2004 Toyota Highlander and the pewter is a GMC truck color.
I wanted a Dodge Caliber blue with pearl but it would have costs a million dollars! The Toy Highlander color has metallic that doesnt sit so flat. Darn thing still looks wet!
Another thing my body guy did was put 4 or 5 coats of clear on it so if the kids ran into it with their bikes and scratched it, it would have a better chance of buffing out.
Frank TonkaJ200 did the decals. It is well worth it and you can choose the right color to really compliment the colors you choose for the body.
