I just replaced my choke pull of on my 2150 carb on the 88GW. The new choke pull of did not come with the spring shown in the shop manual. I don't think their was one on the old choke pull of put I am not sure. It seems to me that the spring helps align the linkage but it seems to be working fine with out it. Is the spring necessary or did some 2150's come with out one?

I don't have a spring on my new one or old one. Two bolts hold it to the carb and a flat piece connects to the choke linkage.
