Hi every body, i ask all you about people who love FSJ like us but only understand spanish, what chance do they have to get into FSJ discussion, in order to help them.
Thanks, i'm really glad for this chance, ifsja membership make me fell happy in order to share FSJ knowledgment and experience, thank you very much.
Now i'm recovering my waggy, i'll really alert about upgrades.

Ok ahora si en español a ver como nos va, les tengo una pregunta respecto a la relación de ejes en los diferenciales, como ustedes saben yo tengo una wagoneer sport año 81, tiene motor y caja de cambios recien hechos, acabo de colocarle atrás un diferencial AMC 20, me gustaría saber que grupos diferenciales debo colocar para que mi camioneta sea un vehículo competitivo en off road y que de igual manera la pueda usar normalmente en carreteras. gracias...

Apruebe que dependería del tamaño del neumático que usted utiliza. Si usted utiliza un neumático del 33"que 4.56 engranajes de R&P funcionarán. Si usted utiliza el trabajo de los neumáticos 4.88 R&P del 35"mejor.

Cambiaría el eje trasero a un árbol mejor primero. Los árboles de Chevy funcionan muy bueno para "FSJ". Son muy fáciles encontrar las piezas para y los resortes en su "FSJ" están iguales que en un Chevy. :thumbsup:

El traductor que he puesto puede traducir textos en castellano al ingles, y viceversa. Si pones tus mensajes en castellano, los van a poder leer cuatro personas, en lugar de las 5,000 que hay apuntadas en este foro, y la cantidad y calidad de las respuestas que recibas va a verse reflejada en eso.

tengo problemas con la ceba de la camioneta la pierde de un dia para otro, siempre al siguiente dia tengo que echarle un poquito de gasolina al carburador para que pueda prender. Le cambié la bomba de gasolina porque estaba botando gasolina por el desahogo, le hice limpieza y le cambié el kit al carburador Carter y aún sigue el problema.

My own english,
i've a trouble by turning on my waggy from one day to the other, i've to put a little bit of gasoline to the carburetor in order to turn my waggy on. I changed pump because it was a leak throw the relief, i cleaned and changed carter carburetor kit and ever it fails from one day to the other, during day it works perfect.

I don't speak spanish, but I think I understand your problem. I'd check the rubber fuel lines between the engine and the fuel tank. If there's a crack or leak then the fuel pump has to work a lot harder to get fuel to the carburetor, and it makes it much easier for the fuel to evaporate out of the fuel line.

If one of you kind folks that do speak the language can post up a translation, I'd appreciate it.

That's a good one- "authentic FSJ". AMC used GM and Ford parts in all their vehicles. :D:D

Well thats good, and I can understand that. Just make the axle shafts in the front and the rear better with "alloy shafts" and you will be fine. Sounds like your off to a great start.:thumbsup:

Mechanical mishaps and trail misadventures transcend language. Whatever native tongue you cuss in, you will be doing so to your FSJ, regularly.

We're FSJ and AMC parts defender :D in spanish or in english, some folks say that chevy engine means no trouble but i prefer AMC 258 motor, pilot makes the difference. :D
Anyway i'm an open minded person :D, i think so . . . muahaha

Good truck, 1991 258 AMC move easy waggy with NP219, 727 and 2.73 on the pavement but off road :confused: i don't know yet
Next week it'll be in painting process, i hope modern material will rise my waggy again ... :)

Te recomendo que revises los valeros the la diferencial tracera. Probablemente cuando das vuelta pones mas presion hacia un lado. La diferencial tiene 4 valeros. Uno en cada rueda e dos en el centro de la defencial. Casi estoy seguro que es el de afuera de el lado hizquierdo.

La diferencial D60 tracera de un Dodge pickup de 3/4 de tonelada, seria una buena "alimentacion" para ser mas "chingona" fuera de la carretera :)

Estas bienen con 8 virlos, pues tendrias que cambiar de ruedas I en effectivo la differencial de enfrente tambien.

mavd02, si realmente quieres hacer una conversion a turbo checa el link anexo. Es un articulo acerca de un sistema turbo para el 4.0.

He buscado turbo kits para el 4.2 por un buen rato y no he encontrado nada. Dudo que encuentres algo para el 4.2 ya que aunque es posible (en teoria puedes ponerle turbo a cualquier motor) resutaria muy complicado y caro ya que ademas del turbo necesitarias idear la manera de controlar la relacion aire combustible cuando el turbo genera boost. Esto es muy dificil con carburadores. Es decir que tendrias que convertir a EFI.

En mi humilde opinion, seria mas facil instalar un motor 4.0 y luego convertirlo a turbo que turbocargar el 4.2.

Y solo para que no pienses que hablo por hablar, ya he realizado algunas conversiones a turbo en otros vehiculos. Anexo el link de mi 240Z para que veas de que hablo.

Mi situacion es similar a la tuya, tengo una Wagoneer 81 con motor 258, y aun con la experiencia que tengo en motores turbocargados he decidido hacer una conversion a V8. Checa el link anexo para que veas a "La Jeepa".

La wago de Heimeken está excelente, sobre todo la evolucion que ha tenido (misma que he seguido paso a paso vía WEB), sirve de inspiracion a muchos de nosotros...

Segun he visto los ejes de las Dodge Ram 4x4 del modelo 97 a ¿2001? tienen un dana 60 trasero, pero patron de 5 birlos, se ve más robusto que las de wagoneer y puede ser una opcion con cambiar el patron de birlos.

Ahora bien, las modificaciones que menciones tienen un efecto positivo en el desempeño del motor, pero tienes que hacerlas todas juntas. habria que añadir multiple de admision junto con el carburador y un arbol de levas. Si haces todo lo anterior obtendrias una notable mejora. Pero aun asi no se compararia con el de un 4.0 HO o un 360.

Si ES IMPERATIVO que conserves el 258 original puedes hacer las modificaciones indicadas.

Si lo que buscas es un mejor desempeño al menor costo posible lo mejor seria que instales otro motor (con su respectiva transmision) debido al tiempo dinero y esfuerzo requeridos para modificar un 258.

Como te dije antes, lo anterior es solo mi opinion, y en este caso, la unica opinion valida es la tuya.

Asi es. El 4.2 litros es un motor relativamente viejo y de tecnologia antigua, de modo que su desempeño no es muy bueno. Aun asi, en mi Jeepa, con su relacion de diferenciales original de 4.11 y llantas no muy grandes 30" maximo funciona relativamente bien, nada exagerado. Si quieres usar llantas 33" o mas grandes vas a necesitar cambiar la relacion. Si quieres mucho mas torque te convendria cambiar el motor. La verdad es que el 360 tampoco es muy bueno comparado con motores actuales, pero es mucho mejor que el 4.2

El 4.0 HO que viene en las XJ, sin modificar y con su EFI original funciona mucho mejor que el 4.2, casi como un 360, y la instalacion seria relativamente facil. Ademas hay muchisimos ya que la Cherokee es la SUV mas vendida de la historia.

Estas son solo opciones. Yo voy a instalar un 360 unicamente porque el carro donador me no me costo nada, venia incluido con la Jeepa cuando la compre. Si tuviera que invertir para comprar otro motor compraria un 4.6 stroker de titan engines. Checa el siguiente link:

Convengo con él. Si fuera a poner el dinero en un turbo para 258, apenas utilizaría que el mismo dinero y construyo 360 muy fuertes. Pero si usted no puede encontrar 304, 360 entonces utilizaría la idea 4.0. :thumbsup:

Welcome to the madness Mavd02, about those 4.2's you can easily swap around parts with a later model 4.0L from a Cherokee or wrangler (91-01) and make a mean stroker out of it boosting it up to 4.5-4.7 litre depending on the modifications, I have a 92 cherokee with a 4.0L in it and it still chugs along with 230,000 miles (370,149 km) on it and getting around 20 miles to the gallon (32 kmpg) my buddy has a 93 cherokee with a 4.6 stroker in it and it has plenty of low rpm torque, and gets about 10% gas better mileage than me which is really good with that much more power than my stock 4.0L (estimating about 25-30% more power than my baby cherokee)

But right now I'm giving my 83 Cherokee more attention.

Hey folks i was so worry about your answer i thought you never answer me :( thanks you all, although it has been like before but to be or no to be that's the question muahahahaha :D

I put two electro guys plus fan cluth, one 16" electro fixed to A/A radiator pushing fresh air to motor's radiator and a second one fixed to tranny cooler pushing hot air out to the muscle nose ... total three fans pushing air you know ...

anyway some times when waggy steep climb put like this :mad: a little hot ...

and what about ignition i put new TFI top, 8mm plugs and new dry coil fixed out to fender, same motorcraft module, motor is happy like this :) sound better than before :D but i want more you know ...

Hey folks i've a question for you; i put AMC20 code D rear axle in my waggy long time ago, it combined NP219 with just good for me, but it plays 4x2 only because front axle is dana 44 and 2.73 non exist you know; huhum but in dana 30 all rigth. Ok one way is to install dana 30 front axle 2.73 diff. ratio with and piece of cake, another way is my question, is it possible install dana 30 2.73 diff. ratio all parts into dana 44 case? in order to play 4x4 my waggy you know i like this diff. ratio is so good for me NP219 with...

My 1985 Waggy came stock with 2.73 Dana 44 in the front. Are you saying you cannot buy that ratio new? You could go to the wanted section and ask to see if someone has the old 2.73's out of their rig. Lots of people swap those out for different ratios for offroad.

Hi guys !!! how are you doing? you remember when i talk about tranny's cooler for my waggy, well, i designed a new flat and it's waiting for name, made with asphalt coat for house application you know, ok i put my new flat just between motor's cooler and tranny's cooler, now this flat take all hot from tranny's cooler and throw it away to one side and down it doesn´t cross motor's cooler, in addition hot from motor's cooler remains isolated when tranny's cooler electro is on; then running hot from tranny's cooler can´t cross motor's cooler and in traffic or steep climb tranny's cooler electro pulls out hot taking fresh air from down or from one side not from motor's cooler; motor's cooler electro turn on same time than tranny's cooler electro, that's all folks waiting for yours views on ... :thumbsup: :fsj:
