I am finally buying my 6" lift this week for my 86 GW. I am teetering back and forth between the Hell Creek and BJs. The price difference is negligible and I can't find anything that is really pushing me one direction or the other. If you have any direct experience with either of these lifts, I would really appreciate your opinion.
I am going to add a poll as well just for good measure to help me sift out the comments.

I had BJ's 6" kit on my 87GW. It is an awesome kit. All parts are included, installation was easy and the ride afterwards was better than the stock springs. Ryan & Brent did an excellent job in putting that kit together. If I get another FSJ I will buy it again.

Both are excellent. I really like my Hell Creek and would buy it again. It flexes much better than I imagined it would. However, if the shipping on the BJs had been cheaper or as cheap at the time I might have gone that route. Also BJs, I believe, offers better shock choices, though you pay more. For me, as it might for you, it came down to shipping costs. Mississippi to Texas is probably cheaper than Washington to Texas. That would determine things for me.

It would depend on total price between the two. Both are quality items.

I don't know anything about Hell Creek support, but BJ's is local to the forum and their assistance in the past has been absolutely great. Repeat customer here. That'd seal the deal for me.

I thought I would give an update to this thread. This morning I purchased the Hell Creek 6" kit.
Why?
Well, back channel through PMs a few people offered some insight that helped sway me due to some personal issues that they had experienced with BJs support which kind of troubled me a bit. Secondly, the price was virtually the same, but Hell Creek through in a steering stabilizer. Not a big thing, but I added that to the factor list. The deal breaker was when I eventually received a call back from BJs getting a shipping quote. The guy told me that the website doesn't actually reflect their real prices. Steel has gone up in price so the lift will be 50-100 bucks more than they are advertising it for. Ummmm HUH? Advertise at one price, then change it at purchase time? Not cool IMO. As for the shipping quote from BJs, I decided to pass and told the guy not to bother.
So.... hopefully I have a project next weekend. Time to start PB blasting the crap out of everything!

When we installed the lift on my Chero (then the PO's), we were waiting on shipping and crunched for time so while we were waiting for the parts to arrive we prepped the Chero. If you don't use your rig as a DD and you have enough stands (8 - 2 for each axle and 4 for the rig), you can have the tires off, the springs and shocks off, the brake lines off and then when your parts arrive you are already 50% done.

The last one I did I used two jackstands a floor jack, and a couple of blocks of wood, did one end at a time and it took all of one Saturday.

4" from Rusty's on a '90 GW. Wish I'd kept that one. I always consider it the one that got away. Especially after I did the lift and Edelbrock intake/carb for the new owner.

Good point - I picked up an old 79 Mercedes diesel beater as a DD a couple of months ago to rack up miles on instead of the wag. There is no reason I can't get it started before the boxes start showing up!
