today my temp gauge finally stopped working,gas gauge hasnt been working.was thinking its the constant voltage regulator mentioned in the manual.dealer says its actually a radio suppressor is this correct?i havent pulled the cluster yet so point me in the right direction

It could be the connections there, hots and grounds, or the CVR. Not sure how to test that CVR. Be careful in there if the key is on...battery voltage!

I was informed just today that you will find a noise supressor behind the cluster. If its like mine it'll look like a cheap little coil that slides onto a couple of pins. I was also informed that the CVR is located in the temp guage itself. And finally that if the oil guage is working that the CVR should be good and its probably in the printed circuit board or the senders themselves. I bought my 83 with both fuel and temp dead. I have yet to tear mine apart and apply this info to fix anything, but it makes good sense. good luck
