I know Todd installed one in the Riverbeast. What I need to know is what year(s) will fit on my '88 GW. I've got a 2" body lift with the poly bushings (which gives me about another inch). I will need the vent lines for my emmissions etc.

Tom,
from 84-88 the tanks varied from 25 to 33. The difference is the depth. The 33 is 15" deep and the 25 is 12" deep.
You may need to look at new replacement tanks to get the appropriate year for the emissions vent tube so you know which one to get out of the boneyard.

I sure wish I knew that before I built my gas tank, would of been alot easier, but I can garantee that nobody has a gas tank quite like mine tongue.gif :D

Its not 33 gallons but if you are looking to move your side gas tank to the rear area you might consider using a Jeep Cherokee "XJ" gas tank. It was easy to put in and provided for the vent line. The gauge hooked right up also and the filler tubes were on the correct side. If you want me to send you some picture drop me a line.
Also make sure you get a sending unit from a carburated engine. The Fuel Injected version has the full pump in the sending unit.

Hmmm...sounds like something I would want on my J-20. How low does the tank hang? Does it tuck up pretty well? 10 mpg and 19 gal tank don't mix well. :(
