Last week, a guy I met offered me his 1985 Grand Wagoneer. I just got rid of a 1987 K5 Blazer and was focused on finished my Discovery. I could not pass this up and I now have another money pit in the stables.
1985 Grand Wagoneer
360, 727, Edelbrock performer intake, 650 Vacuum secondary carb, edelbrock performer camshaft, Crane cams performance ignition module, flowmaster muffler, 3in Rustys lift, 31in tires. This guy took great care of the truck and has all service records. The best part about all of this is that I got it for free!!!!! My wife loves it too!!!! I always regretted getting rid of my 1989 5spd, 2dr Cherokee and the K5, but this makes up for that many times over. I hope you enjoy the pics.

Thanks guys. I am not sure what I am going to do with it at the moment. I am working on building a 1998 Discovery, but that is almost where I want it to be. The Wagoneer needs some minor electrical work and paint and I am also thinking about putting a trailer hitch on. It had one, but the guy who gave it to me removed it. It has so much room in it and I am trying to get road worthy enough to take to OBX this year. One question... when I pull the lever from 4wd to 2wd it hisses and stays hissing in 2wd. The bar under the seat for hi\low doesn't mpve either. Is there anything obviuos that I am doing wrong? I may spend some time under it this weekend to see what exactly is happening there.

The 4X switch is vacuum operated. That sound is either a bad vacuum hose at the back of the switch or possibly bad switch. Another possibility is a bad diaphram on the sifted on the xfer case. As for the lever, it won't go into 4L without it already being engaged in 4x (vacuum switch). Also, it may be hard to go into 4l if it hasn't been moved in a few years like mine
