How many are running the York on its side?
Any Probs?

I've heard its best to run it straight up, but I don't want to have to manufacture new brackets if can be helped.

It has always run on the side for Air Conditioning, why not for Air? Does anyone know the consequences of running it on the side?

dude it doesn't matter if you run it on the side ,it worked for the a/c didn't it ... well then it will work for air .. plus thats the reason everyone is running then ,is because they have there own oil supply and don't rely on the freon for lube. go right ahead ,i'm fixin'to use the one on my 80 cherokee for onboard air myself good luck .

Gladi8r,

CCI, the manufacturers of the York have an excellent site. It has manuals and lots of pics. You won't have any problem identifying weather or not you have a York.

fdwyer,

There is a good article in one one of the current four wheel magazines, althought the article concerns installation on an XJ, it makes use of the York compressor. I don't remember the name of the magazine, but the cover lists articles about best projects for $2001.00 or something such as that.

I hope this helps.

That current mag article is in Petersen's and it's about putting a Kilby OBA kit on a TJ.

Still helpful though.
www.onboardair.com (http://www.onboardair.com) is a greaty resource (regardless of what you wheel), definitely check out the links page (tons of helpful write-ups).
