I"m impressed and I thank you for this surprising welcome. In fact, I wasn't at all expecting to be able to read french on this forum.
Are you french or canadian ?

Are you french or canadian ?
Well, neither. My wife is AMERICAN!!!
She was standing here when I saw your first post...thought it would help make you more welcome. ;)
She has an M.A. in French literature from the University of Texas, she teaches high school French and is a complete Francophile. Her French is so good that most French people ask where she's from in France. She's lived in Paris and Caen.
I've been to France twice. Once on a driving trip from Madrid to Claremont Ferrand for the '72 Grand Prix. The other was Paris in '81. I hated Paris.
We hope to be in Le Mans for the 24hr. next year.
I'd love to do some wheeling, too. :fsj:

It's really impressive, the syntax was so perfect that I thought it was from a native.
Well, i've never been in the states, but i've travelled a little only. I'm just back for U.N Mission in central europe and this SJ was some kinda gift to myself by myself :). By the way, i'm from south france, living between Marseille and Montpellier (no, not the one in VT).
Until last year we had an annual gathering of jeepers nearby Clermont Ferrand..i'll try to find some pics, there were some teams from the U.S. This event has been cancelled this year due to the behavior of some people. Happens.
I'm reading the threads for now to have an idea of what has been talked about before asking questions.. and be sure I will have a lot.. for I got some surprises in my SJ.. missing wires, leaks and so on. but I think this kind of vehicules deserve the pain.

I'll pass along your kind words. :)
We have many friends in France. From exchange programs throughout the years, or friends my wife made when she lived there. We had a group of students here this February. The French teacher (she actually teaches English :p ) stayed with us. We usually host the chaperon, seldom a student.
If you should venture to the states. Come in June for the East Coast Invasion. Now you have a host family.
You won't find a better source for info on the venerable SJ series Jeeps than this site.
Nice looking Jeep BTW!
