A few days ago I saw a '65 Waggy on CL/eBay that's not too far from me. I drove out today and took a look at it. It's got a Chevy 350 V8 with a semi-recent rebuild (10k miles or so - could still clearly read the Goodwrench logo on the block) and a turbo 400 tranny (didn't look to verify, just what the current owner told me). It starts right up and idles fine, but get on the gas and it hesitates and stutters a bit but then comes back... The thing that makes this more a of beast than normal is the Braden hydraulic winch on the front. I'm guessing the bumper and winch stick out a good 2 feet. No PTO or electric motor for the winch, but the fluid is still good, the in/out lever moves freely, and everything spins (which could just mean all the seals are wasted). I'm not too keen on the bumper/winch, probably try and sell it. The interior is stripped, and there doesn't seem to be any rot. My problem is I'm torn about buying it. It runs seemingly well, smog exempt, power steering and brakes are strong, already has the Chevy 350 in it, 33" BFG ATs, but the price seems high to me. He's probably not going to settle for less than $2500.

Talk me down from the ledge or push me over. I want something old to park next to the lifted 06 LJ, but I've already got to replace the 4" lift blocks... here's the expired eBay ad (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200212619704&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123).

that is a hard one...the body looks decent..but the front axle and back axle from what i have read on here do not really do good with oversized tires on them....have to wait for others to chime in...i would ditch the winch but keep that bumper and get a newer winch to mount on it,:fsj:

I'd say it's a little overpriced. There are a lot of good starter trucks to build up for way less than that. This particular beast has already been through the IFSJA wringer:
