I am going to be doing my SOA, tranny/t-case and axle swap in the next month/two months from now and I want to make sure I have all my ducks in a row.

My list so far:
Chevy Dana 44, 4.56s, detroit, high steer
14 bolt, 4.56s, detroit, disc brakes
TF727
Dana 300 w/twin sticks
Shackle flip kit for the rear
Extended brake lines
Driveshafts will need to be ordered of course
I need to fab up a drag link, I have a 1-ton tie rod already

I was planning on pulling a crossmember from a Grand waggy at PnP for the 727/300 combo. Will this work or should I be prepared just to fab up a new crossmember?

Anything I am missing?

You may want to pick up a couple sets of axle swap kits from Ruff Stuff. They come with ubolt plates, spring perches, shock brackets, and ubolts.

I personally think it would be easier/better to fab up a crossmember if you have the capabilities. Chopped my stock one up for the d300.

Oops, I forgot to put those on this list. They are on my spreadsheet. I am going to be up in Sac in about 2 weeks and will stop by RS and get them.

Thanks!

Have fun with the 727/d300 combo! I ran into numerous problems with it, come to find out your best bet will be to use the stock yoke and just order one of Tom Woods Super Flex joints! They work miracles. I didnt have to do any grinding or anything and im running quite a bit of angle on mine.

What kind of problems did you have with it?

Most likely the large passenger side bulge on the 727 passenger side. Poses a clearence problem for the 300....

Beer, 9\16 shackle bolts because you will have to torch some of them, penetrating oil so you can avoid torching them, spring bushings because they are probably about had it or will be burnt from torching the bolts, brake fluid for the bleeding, adapter fitting for the brake lines to the new/different wheel cylinders and calipers, retaining clips where the front brake lines attach to the frame because your after market stainless steel brake lines won't have any, differential cover gaskets and dope so you can drain and refill the pigs and vent hose to replace the rotten one currently ventilating the pigs.
