Wish I had pic's to offer but the Rescue and recovery occured after hours. My Buddy Eddy bought a 500.00 74 Chevy Blazer or Craigs list. He and my 2 other neighbors went on it's innaugral run Friday night. I thought it best I stay home with the Wife and kids with all my recent traveling. About 7:30 my cell rings and my wife answers "He Cant Play". Dan says, But we are stuck bad. I tell Stacey, Don't worry I will be back Soon. She replies: Sure you will, I have heard that before. I go to the creek and begin the extraction. He sunk it up to the frame rails. We winched him out and all was good in the Hood until I got stuck. So we winched me out. Then he got stuck again, so we winched him out, Then I got stuck again, but we winched me out. Are ya'll following me??? we were 1/2 mile from our front doors and we have traveled 500 yards and its 10pm. What a blast we were having. Now, do we go left up the mountain or right across the creek? Cross the creek!!. I eased down in the creek, dumped the throttle and Bam hit the creek bank and I was stuck again. All I heard was "agrr, now we are in trouble". Agony of defeat for just a moment. I hollard "Look out I'm not giving up". Fired the honcho up, threw it in reverse and had some traction, then hammerd the throttle and that son of gun hooked up like only a jeeper can, climbed out of that creek like a rocket with mud rocks and root aflying. 4 rednecks screaming and hooten and hollaring. Awesome. Ed tried to cross but he got stuck again and I yanked him out with a snatch strap/greatest thing to have off road.
Go prepared. we carry chains cables snatch blocks, chain saws tool and heck yes, some cold beers.
