Not too long ago I picked up a 1980 Cherokee Laredo for 800 bucks. I wasn't sure what i was going to do with it but I think despite alot of cancerous rust damage I am going to restore it. Anyway I am trying to decide on what my end state is going to be. Can any one give me some knowledge on transmission swaps.. I am feeling that I want to put in a five speed transmission in and B.J'sOffroad has an adapter that allows for some various chevy trannies to mount to the stock 360. But I don't really know how to decide what is the best transmission to go with and what not. Also as far as suspension modifications go I think I want either a 4-4.5" suspension lift with a 2" body lift just a straight 6" suspension lift. Any thoughts?..... I am an FSJ newb so help me out.:fsj:
