honeslty i would go and check out over at www.pirate4x4.com (http://www.pirate4x4.com) although I am probably going to get sassed a bit for this they have some pretty skilled fabricators over there even though they can be kind *** 's sometimes.. i would search over there and I bet you will find lots of post regarding shortening a frame... its the kind of page where you just look and read but very rarely do you talk.. its funny now that they don't get very many new comers they have to turn on their own kind to make fun of... its funny the way its like a school yard over there... everyone just gangs up ..

It's actually pretty easy. All you have to do is relocate your axle to the right wheel base and cut off the extra frame. Of course that's only if you frame width doesn't change ! The hardest part of it is getting your axles set right so it doesn't dog track.
Here's how it's done on big trucks:
Disconnect driveshaft, brake lines.
Disconnect shocks at frame mount.
Support frame to remove weight from springs.
Cut or unbolt spring hangers from frame.
Roll axle/wheel/spring assembly to new location.
Mount spring hangers.
Install brake lines, new shock mounts.
Measure for new shaft.
Cut off excess frame
