pulling a vac on a/c

Can some one help me out here.I just put all new parts in for the a/c. SO When i start pulling a vac watch way dose the valve need to be turn.I know by looking in the valve that it seats all the way i and all the way out.I got all that is needed from friend but he only dose home a/c so he don't know auto.CAN someone walk me threw this. ;) thanks

If you turn them all the way out that is the normall run position. One or two turns in is for when you need to service the system or vac it out, all the way clockwise you could remove the compressor with out loosing all the freon.
