I have a few questions about the stock carb on an 88 Grand Wagoneer. I just picked this truck up a week ago and when I was checking things out under the hood I may have knock some vacuum hoses off. So I did a search on this great board and came away with an address that has a vacuum diagram. Here is the one I got:

Now the carb that is on the truck now doesn't have all the ports that this picture is showing. In fact the only port I think it does have is S. It is a 2bbl carb and has an aluminum tag at the top that says Autolite with some numbers on it. What I found is that the line with the bowl vent solenoid is just laying on the intake not connected to anything and there were 2 hoses on the rear CTO that were just laying there so I plugged them together. Also on the PVC hose assembly there is nothing connected to the back of the carb. Now maybe the vacuum diagram for an 88 is different than an 89 but I don't think so. Presently the Grand Wagoneer has a real bad idle but other than that it smooths out once the rpms climb. I plan to replace the vacuum hoses as some are dry and feel brittle but am not sure if the vacuum diagram is correct for my Jeep.
