alright ive got a 258 in a 78 what i want to know is how can get rid of all of this mess that the po has on here.there was air hose from pcv valve that goes nowhere etc.. i want to get rid of the the pcv and all that. i know i have to let the motor breath but can i put breathers on them holes in the valve covers. i just had the head rebuilt and havnt put it back together yet.oh yea ny state doesnt have that emissions testing so i dont have to worryabout that. like the name says its my beater,the jeep equivalent of a rat bike. thanks for any suggestions

Why get rid of the PCV? Using the vacuum to suck those acidic fumes out of the crankcase is the way to go.

well where do they go the po had everything just hanging off. also what makes acidic fumes?
The PCV hose should go somewhere into the back of the carb...there aren't a lot of fittings back there that are that size, so it shouldn't be too hard to find...as far as acidic fumes, the battery might make em...but that don't explain how they got into the crankcase :D redface.gif

thanks i was looking at summit and they got little chrome breaters for like 4 bucks anybody run something like that before?
