Read an old post about leaks at the rear and front main seals, which I have in copius amounts, and the solution in that case was a new PCV valve. Went to try the same thing and discovered that I have no rubber grommet for the missing PCV valve to go into which should be connected with vaccum hose to my Model 2100 2bbl carb that has no place for a hose to hook up to!! So I have a 2 inch hole in the back of my manifold with nothing in it ( except probably leaves, pinestraw, small children etc... ). It would be as easy as going to the parts store if I could find a place to hook it up to my carb which I cant, perhaps Im missing something?? :(

The bad news is that if you have nothing in the PCV hole
the leaks are not likely to be cured by adding a PCV valve.
The case where changing the PCV valve helps leaks is where
the old PCV valve is pluged causing the crankcase to run
slightly at a highter presure pushing oil out past the seals.
In your case with a open hole (Pretty good crankcase vent)
I don't think adding a valve is going to help the oil leaks.
It will help keep small children from falling in however.
Don't know enough about your particular carb to help you
find a vacume source to plug a valve into.

I got a 79 with the same carb the pcv hooks to a port on the back of the manifold.

Dude, I live in Freeland, just down the road. We should hook up! E-mail me.
